The Origin Story — Elements Of G

From West Africa
to Los Angeles.

How a single moment of fire became a global method.

“I never forgot the burn.

A Spark
in Africa

“What makes La Savate different?” — the question that changed everything.

As a teenager in West Africa, Garba Onadja — known today as Mister G — trained in martial arts alongside his French friend Charles, a Taekwondo black belt and La Savate competitor.

During one session, Garba asked: “What makes La Savate different?” Charles explained chambering — a unique positioning technique that ignites the glutes, hips, and core before each kick.

Garba mimicked the move… and felt the fire. That single moment of activation — that precise, intentional burn — planted the seed for what would one day become a global fitness method.

Precision. Discipline. Elegance. The three forces that shaped gTonnicks.

In the elegant city of Nice, France, Garba — no longer competing but now working as a fitness coach — became a passionate observer of two worlds: La Savate and ballet.

He studied La Savate artists for their control and flow, and ballerinas for their strength cloaked in grace. What connected them both?

Precision. Discipline. Elegance. It was here — in Nice — that the foundation of gTonnicks took shape: a bold fusion of power and poise unlike anything the fitness world had seen before.

Realized
in Los Angeles

Clients were losing weight — but they weren’t feeling toned. Something was missing.

In the late 1990s, Garba opened Starphysique Studio in Los Angeles. His clients were making progress with cardio — but they weren’t feeling toned, defined, or transformed. Results were partial. Something essential was absent.

Then that memory from Africa came rushing back: the chambering burn. The activation. The tone. The moment of fire that no conventional workout had ever reproduced.

It was time to create something entirely new — something that worked where trendy workouts failed. Something built on precision, muscle activation, and the elegant science of movement. And just like that — gTonnicks was born.

The Method

What is
gTonnicks?

gTonnicks is a unique body-sculpting method that fuses the most powerful elements of martial arts, ballet, gymnastics, and kinetic science into a single, precision-engineered system.

Targeting the waist, abs, glutes, and thighs, gTonnicks tones without bulk — delivering lean strength, beautiful lines, and functional power that no other method produces.

  • Martial Arts Precision

La Savate chambering — the original spark. Deep glute, hip, and core activation before every movement.

  • Ballet Strength & Postural Elegance

Strength cloaked in grace. The discipline of ballet translated into functional, beautiful movement.

  • Gymnastics Control & Flexibility

Body mastery through controlled movement — expanding range, building stability, and sculpting form.

  • Kinetic Science & Muscle Activation

The science of how the body moves — engineering precise activation patterns that produce tone, not bulk.

A Method That Works

From studio favorite
to national movement.

By 2004, gTonnicks had evolved from a cult favorite at Starphysique Studio into a national movement — with hundreds of workout videos sold and students across the country reshaping their bodies and rebuilding their confidence through the method.

What began as a single spark in West Africa — a moment of fire felt in a chambering kick — had become something that changed lives. It still does.

“gTonnicks isn’t just a workout — it’s strength in motion, elegance in practice, and empowerment in every move.”

— Garba Onadja  (Mister G)
